It is a land of chateaux, vineyards, rivers, and towns, particularly Bastide towns, and wonderful light. Eymet is such a Bastide town. They were fortified towns, generally built in the eleventh and twelfth centuries as part of the contest between leaders of France and England for the Acquitaine, of which this forms a part. Most of these towns have a weekly market. Enjoy.
